Federal grand jury indicts two for bank fraud involving Washington casino

Vanessa R. Waldref, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, announced [Friday] that a federal grand jury has indicted two women from Thurston County, Washington, on charges of bank fraud. Kaydee Jean Baker and Beth Ann Hayes face ten counts related to the unauthorized use of a bank account belonging to the Kalispel Tribe’s Northern Quest Resort & Casino.

The indictment alleges that Baker and Hayes engaged in a scheme to defraud by ordering checks displaying the routing and bank account numbers of an account owned by Northern Quest Resort & Casino. It is further alleged that the defendants used these checks to withdraw funds for personal financial gain, writing over $30,000 in fraudulent checks.
