Entain hailed a ‘strong start’ to the year with ‘record’ customer numbers as the gambling giant was buoyed by US punters during the Super Bowl and March Madness.
The FTSE 100-listed Ladbrokes owner reported a 15 per cent rise in net gaming revenues in the first quarter, with its 50 per cent share of BetMGM in the US seeing a 17 per cent uplift.
Online net gaming revenue rose 16 per cent, or 11 per cent at constant currency, in line with expectations and ‘demonstrating strong momentum’.
The group, which also owns Coral betting shops, and online brands Partypoker and Bwin, achieved record levels of active customers in the quarter, rising 19 per cent year-on-year.
