That’s a hefty price to pay for seven wagers worth a total of $213.

It’s the second fine the casino has incurred for allowing action on BC women’s hoops. The commission last year fined Encore $10,000 for bets taken on a Feb. 2 BC women’s game.

Monday’s fine relates to illegal bets that the Encore accepted on BC women’s basketball games on Feb. 12 and Feb.19 of last year. In both cases, the commission said, the banned bets were processed because an Encore vendor did not properly disable all BC women’s basketball team events.
