The awards ceremony may be 257 days away — and most of the movies listed haven’t even been released yet — but DraftKings isn’t wasting any time when it comes to the 2024 Oscars, posting odds for Best Picture already. (Oscars betting is legal in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Louisiana, and Michigan.)
And Christopher Rosen, the digital director for Gold Derby, a news site that specializes in predicting Hollywood races, is questioning whether some of the favorites deserve to be at the top.
“I don’t think the top two are going to win,” he said. “Those are the kinds of movies that haven’t really won recently.”
