On-air ESPN talent facing layoffs this summer might have a new job option. DraftKings is planning to launch a free video streaming service, complete with sports podcasts, according to Bloomberg.
The shows are expected to be video versions of podcasts that DraftKings already supports financially. They could debut in the next few weeks.
“Over the years, DraftKings has expanded our media footprint by securing top talent and trusted personalities across sports media, and we’ve begun the initial rollout of DK Network,” DraftKings told Bloomberg in a statement.
The move is another example of sports betting operators morphing into media companies.
