The peak of summer also brought the peak of success for casinos in New York.
According to data released by the New York State Gaming Association, the four commercial casinos in NY combined for $57.1 million in gross gaming revenue in July. While down 8.8% from July 2022, last month featured the industry’s highest revenue from slots – $42.2 million – since August.
On top of that, with $13.4 million in July, lifetime table games revenue surpassed $900 million in New York.
In the seven years of land-based casino gaming in the Empire State, no calendar year has gotten off to the same start as 2023. While last month represented the lowest July revenue total in New York since 2019, it pushed the NY casinos industry to $395.8 million in gross gaming revenue.
