Striking Detroit casino workers are urging Lions fans to not cross their picket lines when they get downtown to watch tonight’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Officials with the Detroit Casino Council, the five unions representing workers at the city’s three casinos, said strikers will tailgate Monday on the picket line at the MGM Grand Detroit on Third Avenue, the Hollywood Casino at Greektown on the Interstate 75 service drive, and the MotorCity Casino on Grand River Avenue.
They will also be asking for sports fans’ support, officials said.
“As sports fans flood into downtown Detroit today for the big Lions’ game, Detroit’s striking casino workers are making a simple request: Please don’t cross our picket lines,” the council said in a statement.
