Denmark’s April GGR down 6.9 percent from 2023

The Danish Gambling Regulator, Spillemyndigheden, has released the nation’s figures for gambling spend in April, with combined GGR for betting, gaming machines, land-based casino and online casino decreasing by 6.9% to DKK 595m ($86.4m).

Of the statistics released from the four focus markets detailed above, all but one marked a decrease from April 2023. Betting GGR settled at DKK 195m this April, down by 20.9% from the figure recorded in the same month last year. As shown in the figures released by Spillemyndigheden, the mode of betting was largely dominated by mobile, with 63% of wagers being placed on mobile phones.

Land-based casinos also displayed a marginal decrease of 1.6% year-on-year to DKK 31m, with average daily GGR hitting DKK 993,866.
