Big changes are coming to Monmouth Park.
Not only is Darby Development LLC assuming full control of the New Jersey racetrack in Oceanport, but the ownership group is planning for major development projects in the area with officials set to break ground in late 2025.
“Let me start by thanking Governor [Phil] Murphy for entrusting me, and my entire team, with one of New Jersey’s most iconic landmarks and one of the nation’s top racing venues,” Dennis Drazin, chairman and CEO of Darby, said in a statement.
“While we have been operating the racetrack for just over the past decade, we can now implement our vision for the future, which includes, in conjunction with Morris Bailey, a world-class housing project with full amenities, sports complex, first-class hotel and much, much more.”
