The Culinary Union says it will hold talks this week with three major casino operators after members overwhelmingly authorized a citywide strike.

A spokesperson for the union says negotiations will be held starting Tuesday with MGM Resorts, followed by Wednesday with Caesars Entertainment and Friday with Wynn Resorts.

Contracts with those three companies expired last month. About 40,000 employees covered by Culinary at 20 resorts are working under those expired contracts.

The union said 95% of members voted to authorize a strike last week. As a result, a strike could be called at any date or time. Still, Culinary says it’s still negotiating in good faith with casino operators and has not yet set a strike deadline.
