A new Connecticut Senate Bill, SB 1464, that would allow the state to join a multi-jurisdictional compact for online poker games has been introduced by the Joint Committee on General Law.
Connecticut has already legally approved online poker, but SB 1464 would help establish the framework for the first online poker sites to accept players later in 2025.
The bill includes provisions for responsible gambling, including ensuring that gambling sites offer deposit limits and self-exclusion options.
The most significant part of the bill is the proposal that Connecticut poker platforms could join a compact such as the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. This would mean poker players in Connecticut can play against players in other states who are also part of the agreement.
