Foxwoods Resort Casino is going all in on bingo during Fourth of July weekend, attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest single payout from a bingo game.
The Connecticut casino’s “40th Anniversary Firecracker Bingo” event will feature more than $1 million in total prizes, headlined by a single jackpot worth $440,000. The event also includes $40,000 in door prizes, according to the Foxwoods event page.
The milestone celebration marks 40 years since bingo first arrived at what would eventually become Foxwoods. The bingo hall opened on July 5, 1986 — six years before Foxwoods Resort Casino itself opened in 1992. Bingo essentially laid the foundation for the entire resort.
