The Codere Group today (15 April) announced it had taken a 70% stake in Italian VLT and AWP operator Codgames. The deal, undertaken through Codere’s Operbingo Italia subsidiary, was highlighted by the business as consolidating its position in the country and expanding its network to the south of the peninsula.

The remaining 30% share capital of the company, which controls 600 active machines in Calabria, will remain in the hands of the founding Manna family.

Alejandro Pascual, regional manager of Codere Europe and COO of Italy, said: “This acquisition represents an important step in our territorial expansion plan in Italy.

“Codgames embodies the values we seek in our partners: professionalism, local roots, and commitment to the development of the sector.”
