David Chang, one of the most acclaimed American chefs of the 21st century, once had four restaurants in Las Vegas Strip casinos. Soon, he’ll have only one, at least for the time being.
On Oct. 4, Bang Bar by Momofuku in Block 16 Urban Food Hall at The Cosmopolitan is closing, MGM Resorts announced Thursday. When Bang Bar shutters, only the flagship Momofuku restaurant in The Cosmopolitan will remain at a Strip property.
However, plans call for another concept by Momofuku and China Palace Group to replace Bang Bar, opening in 2027, according to the announcement. Bang Bar debuted in April 2021, taking its name from “bang (ppang),” the Korean word for bread.
