Last year, some members of the Nebraska Legislature warned if state lawmakers would not approve digital sports betting, the casinos would get involved.

Right now, you can bet on sports in Nebraska if you go to one of the machines in a casino, but you can’t do it on your phone or other digital device.

Lynne McNally, government director of Warhorse Casino, says Nebraska is losing out on millions of dollars in tax revenue, with the lion’s share of those dollars going to property tax relief.

“We contributed $66 million in taxes last year between Lincoln and Omaha. This would probably be close to a hundred million dollars when you include mobile sports betting as well,” McNally said.
