Gitxaala Enterprises is celebrating the grand reopening of the Chances casino in Prince Rupert, B.C., as part of a massive redevelopment that could make the city home to a major new resort.
In an announcement Thursday, the economic development arm of the Gitxaala Nation said it plans to combine Chances and the Crest Hotel with a proposed spa into “Northern B.C.’s premier resort destination.”
“It means we no longer are just a gateway to somewhere else, because that’s how a lot of people view Prince Rupert,” said Blair Mirau, director of business development for Gitxaala Enterprises…
The casino is reopening with a slew of improvements, including new gaming chairs, slot machines, carpets and floors, and it’s just part of the long-term plan for the future, the company said.
