Homes, apartments, industrial warehouses, and gas stations are starting to spring up along Interstate 84 between Boise and Mountain Home as the Treasure Valley sees growth increasing to the east.

But there’s another major development, or possible developments, that could join the fray: casinos.

In 2022, BoiseDev broke a big scoop: Two Native American tribes hoped to build casino gaming facilities near the Ada/Elmore border between Boise and Mountain Home. But years later, whether either proposal moves forward and results in Treasure Valley residents flipping chips or dropping coins is still uncertain.

When BoiseDev first dug up the casino news more than four years ago, the proposals were still light on specifics.
