Two ribbon cuttings were held recently at Bear River Casino Resort, one to celebrate its 20th anniversary and the other to celebrate a new gaming space in the casino.
The 20th anniversary ribbon cutting was held in front of the Bear River Casino, on the same exact spot where a ribbon cutting was held on the first day it opened on August 10, 2005.
Several representatives of the Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria remember that first day and the traffic congestion that resulted in vehicles lined up all the way down Singley Road to Highway 101.
“20 years ago, we made history,” Bear River Casino Resort General Manager John McGinnis said.
