Early this morning, a fire broke out at the vacant Epoch Casino on Folsom Boulevard in Rancho Cordova, causing extensive damage to the structure that has not known a patron’s footfall for years.

As reported by ABC10, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to the blaze at 11275 Folsom Boulevard around 2:36 a.m. Crews arrived to find flames outside the building that had spread to the attic, necessitating the call for additional firefighters to manage the escalating situation.

Turning to containment of the fire, firefighters searched the structure amidst the intensity to guarantee no person was trapped inside, with no injuries reported in the aftermath.

Folsom Boulevard stayed closed for several hours as crews checked for remaining hot spots and hidden fires that could quickly spread if not contained.
