A California man filed a lawsuit against the operator of sweepstakes gaming website Pulze.com last week.

The lawsuit, filed by class action specialist Smith Krivoshey, alleges the company is running an illegal gambling enterprise that is exploiting vulnerable consumers and fuelling a rise in gambling addiction.

California has been in the crosshairs of the sweepstakes gaming industry’s critics recently, in part due to the activism of conference chair of the Indian Gaming Association Victor Rocha, who has criticized sweepstakes operators’ activities in the Golden State.

The complaint, filed by plaintiff Dennis Boyle in Orange County Superior Court, accuses Pulze’s operator Yellow Social Interactive of violating California’s unfair competition and consumer protection laws through its operation of the website.
