A Bakersfield man was found guilty of numerous charges including attempted voluntary manslaughter for opening fire against a casino security guard, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s office.
Rafael Lainez Castro, 40, was convicted by a jury on Monday of attempted voluntary manslaughter, assault with a firearm, attempted criminal threat, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited due to conviction and unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, prosecutors said in a statement.
