Fernando Vieira has resigned as Executive President of the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming. During his tenure, he led efforts to strengthen regulation and control illegal betting. Vieira confirmed his departure in a post on LinkedIn, saying he was leaving his position with “a sense of duty fulfilled.”
He had led the institute since October 2024, bringing international experience from more regulated betting markets.
In his farewell note, Vieira declared his tenure as “especially rich,” referring to the rapid growth of the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming’s membership base and the challenges of shaping Brazil’s emerging regulatory framework.
He credited the institute with providing a safer and more sustainable market for bettors while fighting the damage caused by illegal operators.
