Barry Manilow is finished singing until the fall. The “Weekend in New England” hitmaker is undergoing vocal rest through Oct. 8, when he is due to return to the Westgate.
Manilow has called off his next nine performances at International Theater. His three shows this weekend, Sept. 17-19 and Sept. 24-26 are being rescheduled.
In a statement to fans Tuesday afternoon, Manilow said:
”I want you to be the first to know that we’re going to take a quick break. We just finished a fantastic summer tour, 29 shows in 68 days. The shows were fantastic. The audiences were fantastic. And I sounded fantastic. But it seems that we were pushing a little too hard.”
