Attorney General Todd Rokita is warning Hoosiers not to click on social media ads that appear to offer the opportunity to play real-money online gambling games through Indiana’s established casinos.

Rokita said his office is aware of ads recently posted on Facebook that use the names and branding of various Indiana casinos without authorization to try to trick Hoosiers into thinking it’s a legitimate online gaming site with robust consumer protections.

Online slot machines and casino table games cannot lawfully be played with real money in Indiana. Though online sports wagering is permitted in the Hoosier State.

“Educating the public about this scheme is a critical step to preventing scammers who are taking their chances at hustling a profit off unsuspecting Hoosiers,” Rokita said.
