Visit Atlantic City, the resort’s tourism and marketing arm, hosted more than 200 events in its first year, generating more than $362 million in economic activity for the city and the surrounding region, the group said Wednesday.

At its annual meeting at the Atlantic City Convention Center, Visit Atlantic City also revealed plans to further promote the resort to existing and new markets.

“The conversation has changed,” said Gary Musich, president and CEO of Visit Atlantic City. “It was negative, negative, negative. Negative. You’re hearing a lot less of that. People are looking and seeing.”

Formed last year to consolidate Atlantic City’s tourism marketing efforts under one roof and funded by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Visit Atlantic City was tasked with spreading the word about the resort and its surrounding region.
