On Super Bowl Sunday, an Iowa exit ramp was busier than usual with parked cars from Nebraska. There are no businesses anywhere near this exit. In fact, no one even gets out of their vehicle. They are on their phones the entire time.

Here’s why — and the reasons that could change this year. Cross the Mormon Bridge on I-680 from North Omaha into Iowa and there on your right is Exit 1.

During football season, it looks like drivers — mostly from Nebraska — had an emergency and were forced to park on the shoulder. It’s anything but.

GPS software tracks where someone is making a sports bet on their phone.
