The group leading the constitutional amendment campaign that could lead to the repeal of the gambling license for a Pope County casino led all ballot question committees in fundraising during the month of May with $1.2 million.

Groups opposed to proposed amendments on abortion and education outraised supporters in May, thanks mostly to large donations.

Local Voters in Charge, the committee behind the amendment to repeal the Pope County gambling license, has raised a total of $2.45 million with all of the money coming from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, according to its financial disclosure report filed with the Arkansas Ethics Commission.
