The Investing in Arkansas committee opposing the proposed constitutional amendment that would revoke the Pope County casino license granted by the Arkansas Racing Commission to the Oklahoma-based Cherokee Nation Entertainment raised $2 million in contributions and spent $1.34 million in August, according to its latest report.
In total, the committee has raised $2.8 million in contributions from Oklahoma-based Cherokee Nation Businesses and spent $2 million, leaving a balance of $707,730.89 on Aug. 31, the committee reported.
In August, the committee’s $1.34 million in expenses included spending $1.3 million with the Griffen Agency of Little Rock for media buying, according to the committee’s report filed Monday.
