Arkansas: Committee leading effort for Pope County license constitutional amendment raised $2.8M in June

The committee promoting a proposed constitutional amendment that would revoke the Pope County casino license granted by the Arkansas Racing Commission to the Oklahoma-based Cherokee Nation Entertainment raised $2.8 million from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and spent $1.7 million in June, according to a campaign finance report filed Monday.

About $1.6 million of the Local Voters in Charge committee’s expenses in June went for canvassing services to PCI Consultants Inc. of California, the committee reported.

In total, the committee has raised $5.3 million in contributions from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and spent $3.8 million, leaving a balance of $1.46 million on June 30, the committee reported.
