The Pascua Yaqui Tribe has announced the name of its new property off Interstate 10.
To differentiate it from the flagship Casino Del Sol on Valencia Road, the new location, 1055 W. Grant Road, will be referred to as Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa’am.
“Choosing Vahi Taa’am reflects the culture, language and vision of the Tribe,” said Amanda Lomayesva, interim CEO of Casino Del Sol. “It symbolizes light and speaks to a bright future for our team members, guests and the greater Tucson community.”
Vahi Taa’am, meaning “Three Suns” in Yoeme, the language of the Pascua Yaqui people, is not part of the casino’s formal name but serves as a location descriptor. The official property name is pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm.
