Three Sonoma County Indian tribes have filed a joint lawsuit against the U.S. Department of the Interior, joining the legal fight against a casino project proposed by the Koi Nation near Windsor.
Lytton Rancheria, Dry Creek Rancheria and Cloverdale Rancheria filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia last Friday, seeking to void a decision reached by the office of then-Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland — who has since been replaced by Doug Burgum, following Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
The Lytton filing came a week after another Sonoma County-based Pomo band, the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, filed a similar complaint.
