This is the second such action against a major Australian casino operator in as many weeks after AUSTRAC confirmed similar action against Star Entertainment Group late last month.

SkyCity Entertainment Group had also warned of likely action involving its Adelaide operations during the company’s Annual General Meeting in October.

The civil penalty proceedings come after an enforcement investigation into SkyCity was launched in June 2021 – part of an industry-wide compliance campaign that began in September 2019.
