A single lottery ticket sold at a gas station in Quincy, Illinois matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing to win a jackpot worth $1.0402 billion.

The win ended a run of 43 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. Wednesday’s drawing was the 44th of the run, which began after two tickets sold in Florida and Texas split a $20 million jackpot on May 2, 2026.

Powerball advertised the jackpot at $1 billion going into the drawing. After final ticket sales were counted, the prize came in at $1.0402 billion — $1,040,200,000 exactly — with a cash option of $450.5 million.
