Capturing patron habits and demographics is vital for direct marketing campaigns, and in the casino world, that opportunity is often leveraged through promotional kiosks. The line-busting capability and lift to gaming revenue brought by kiosks are now an option for operators and patrons.

Atrient, the market leader in promotional kiosks – and often referred to by gaming insiders as the “industry disruptor” – is proud of its contributions to the gaming industry.

“When Atrient released its first product to the gaming world, we had a ‘push harder’ company culture. Ten years later, we continue to push. We push our team for excellence, we push our operators to come up with creative promotions that are executed on our platform. We’ve seen this push transform into disruption,” said Angela Ahmet, vice president of sales at Atrient.

“If Steve Jobs didn’t push his team to create an iPod that had a larger song capacity than others, would we have an iPhone today? We are just taking a page from his genius.”

The next step for Atrient’s PowerKiosk is the introduction of advanced features for promotional reward capping, and real-time alerts to drawing winners.

Most patrons approach a kiosk to see what offers are available, play in promotions and view their available points and current tier status.

“They want to know ‘What do you have for me?’ You see lines at the players’ club desk all the time, and it’s just to know what the offers are,” says Ahmet, who joined the company earlier this year after stints with VizExplorer and Carnival Corporation. Atrient eliminates burdensome lines and wait times and allows guests to self-comp, meaning that a guest can obtain the available buffet offer, match play coupon, or other comp, and instantaneously have it available for redemption.

“When I was a casino marketer, I always wanted more information,” she says. “I didn’t want to just send generic mail, I wanted to transform my marketing and contact patrons through email and SMS.”

Ahmet says she is proud of the reliability of Atrient’s products. The company’s marketing platform PowerKiosk is utilized by casino operators of all sizes, including MGM Resorts International, California’s San Manuel Casino, and Cherokee Nation Entertainment in Oklahoma. The new Hard Rock in Atlantic City, operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, recently contracted to deploy Atrient’s entire suite of products.

“If you sit in the support room on calls with customers (casino operators), none of those calls are about something not working,” she says. “It’s about trying a new game or a new promotion, trying to do something new.”

For example, at San Manuel, Atrient helped the casino with a recent 30th anniversary promotion.

“We custom-designed a kiosk promotion for them, a whole game using the big wheel from their commercials,” Ahmet says. “We want to make sure we’re helping our clients with all their omnichannel marketing.”

Atrient has increased its presence internationally in recent years, attending both ICE London and G2E Asia earlier this year. The company says announcements are upcoming regarding global operators in Asia and Australia that will soon adopt PowerKiosk.

“We have been the leading provider of U.S. kiosk solutions since 2008, so it only makes sense we expand our footprint and go global,” Ahmet says.

The company is showcasing the PowerKiosk at Booth 1446 at the NIGA Convention and Tradeshow on Thursday and Friday.
