Southland Casino Hotel this week donated $20,694 to West Memphis Mayor Marco McClendon’s Youth Empowerment Summer Jobs Program. The Youth Summer Jobs Program educates and employs up to 60 ambassadors each summer.

The donation is part of casino operator Delaware North’s Game Changer campaign across its U.S. gaming properties.

“We have a deep appreciation for the work that West Memphis does to help our community,” said Southland Casino Hotel General Manager and President Osi Imomoh in a statement. “And to take it a step further – it’s wonderful to know that we’re a part of something even larger, as patrons of other gaming venues within our company’s U.S. portfolio are helping those in need within their respective communities.”

Southland Casino guests contribute to the campaign by dropping off change from slot vouchers at wishing wells located on the casino floor.

“Southland has always been a great partner to the City of West Memphis and their philanthropy has always been great to our community,” said McClendon.

Proceeds from Delaware North’s Game Changer campaign are donated to local organizations focused on creating positive community impact near each participating location.

Since September 2020, the Game Changer program at Southland has raised more than $451,407 for the local community.
