Arizona State Poker Championship returns to Talking Stick Resort after 2-year hiatus

Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale Thursday announced the resumption of the Arizona State Poker Championship. The 16th state poker tournament, postponed for two years because of the pandemic, takes place July 8-12 at the Talking Stick Arena Poker Room, with an estimated prize pool of $1 million.

“Of all the tournaments we host, the Arizona State Poker Championship is easily the most exciting,” said Talking Stick Resort Director of Public Relations Ramon Martinez in a statement. “Our players have big, colorful personalities and their poker play is mesmerizing.”

Talking Stick Resort is part of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

The five-day tournament starts at 9 a.m. each day. The buy-in for the tournament is $1,100 for 16,000 chips, with players having the option of purchasing an additional 10,000 in bonus chips for $30.

Talking Stick Resort is partnering with Bravo Poker Live for online registration for the tournament. Online registrants must have a Talking Stick Resort Player Rewards Club Card. Deadline for online registration is 8:00 a.m. July 8.

Guests also may register by signing up at the cashier in The Arena Poker Room.
