COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – New data show April revenue from Ohio’s four full-service casinos dropped from March but came in slightly higher than a year ago.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission reported Thursday that the casinos had about $69.5 million in revenue last month. That’s roughly $3.4 million less than March, though it topped the April 2014 total by about $500,000.

The Columbus casino had over $18.6 million in revenue, beating its month-ago and year-ago totals.

Revenue decreased on both counts at casinos in Cincinnati and Cleveland, which had about $15.9 million and $18.3 million respectively.

The Toledo casino had nearly $16.7 million, which was lower than in March but higher than a year earlier.

About one-third of the revenues is collected in taxes and given mostly to counties, school districts and host cities.
