AGEM Index increases 11.4 percent in May

The AGEM Index increased by 126.56 points to 1,235.62 in May, an 11.4 percent increase from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the index was up 278.64 points or 29.1 percent.

During the latest month, eight of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases, which resulted in eight positive contributions and three negative contributions to the Index.

The largest positive contributor to the monthly Index was Aristocrat Leisure, whose 12.6 percent increase in stock price led to a 67.53-point gain. Konami Corp.’s stock increased by 14.8 percent, leading to a 32.43-point gain.

The largest negative contributor to the Index was Everi Holdings, whose 11.5 percent decrease in stock price resulted in a 1.59-point loss. International Game Technology’s stock price was flat and had no impact on the Index.

In May, all three major U.S. stock indices increased from the prior period. The NASDAQ grew by 6.9 percent over the month, the S&P 500 rose by 4.8 percent, and the Dow Jones Industrials increased by 2.3 percent over the prior month.
