The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) Index rose by 13.55 points in July 2020 to 420.86, a 3.3 percent gain from June. It was the fourth month in a row of registering increases since its precipitous plunge in March due to the shutdowns from the pandemic.
Six of the 13 companies tracked by the AGEM Index reported stock-price increases amid the ongoing global economic impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The stock price for Aristocrat Leisure Limited increased by 2.7 percent, accounting for a 12.43-point improvement in the Index, while Scientific Games Corporation experienced a 13.7 percent jump that led to an Index contribution of 3.79 points.
By comparison to the AGEM’s 3.3 percent growth, all three major U.S. stock indices increased over June 2020. The Dow Jones Industrial Average grew by 2.4 percent, the S&P 500 by 5.5 percent, and the NASDAQ by 6.8 percent.
