The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) Index decreased in July 2019 by 10.38 points to 494.96 points, a 2.1 percent drop from June 2019, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
The Index’s July 2019 decline was driven by an 8.1 percent decrease in the stock price of Konami Corp., which declined from ¥5,050 to ¥4,640 on the Tokyo exchange. The stock was responsible for 8.26 points of the AGEM Index’s monthly drop.
Aristocrat Leisure Limited was also down slightly month-to-month, experiencing a 0.2 percent stock price drop from AU$30.72 to AU$30.65, which led to a contribution of negative 5.85 points.
Overall, most AGEM Index companies reported increases in stock price during the month, with eight – Agilsys, Ainsworth, Astro Corp., Crane, Everi, IGT, Scientific Games and Transact – trending positively and five – Aristocrat, Galaxy Gaming, Inspired Entertainment, Konami and PlayAGS – moving negatively.
The major stock indices also performed well as the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 experienced monthly gains of 1.0 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively, while the NASDAQ grew by 2.1 percent.
