AGEM Index decreases 6.1 percent in September

The AGEM Index fell by 118.24 points to 1,811.01 in September 2026, a 6.1 percent decrease from the prior month. This marked the first month-over-month decrease for the index since March. Compared to one year ago, the index declined by 5.9 percent, or 114.20 points. During the latest month, eight of the nine AGEM Index companies reported stock price decreases, which resulted in nine negative contributions and zero positive contributions to the index.

The largest negative contributor to the monthly index was Aristocrat Leisure Limited, whose 2.3 percent decrease in stock price led to a 46.60-point loss to the index. Meanwhile, Light & Wonder Inc. saw its stock price decrease by 16.8 percent, leading to a 39.12-point decrease for the index. The notable decline in stock price for Light & Wonder Inc. followed the announcement that the CEO of its social-casino business, SciPlay, would step down from his position at the end of October.

In September, two of the three major U.S. stock indices decreased from the prior month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 4.3 percent, while the S&P 500 experienced a 0.5 percent loss. Meanwhile, the NASDAQ increased by 1.9 percent.
