AGEM Index decreases 2.2 percent in October

The AGEM Index decreased by 34.39 points to 1,518.20 in October 2024, a 2.2 percent decrease from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the Index rose 50.1 percent, or 505.85 points.

During the latest month, seven of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock-price decreases, which resulted in seven negative contributions and five positive contributions to the Index.

The largest negative contributor to the monthly Index was Konami Corp., whose 3.1 percent decrease in stock price led to a 29.86-point loss. Agilysys’s stock price decreased 8.2 percent, leading to a 6.10-point loss.

The largest positive contribution to the Index was from Light & Wonder Inc., whose 3.4 percent increase in stock price resulted in a 7.45-point gain .

In October, two of the three major U.S. stock indices increased over the prior period. The NASDAQ rose by 2.3 percent month over month, while the S&P 500 rose by 0.9 percent. At the same time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 0.2 percent from the prior month.
