AGEM Index continues surge

The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) Index jumped 48.85 points in September 2020 to 530.87 points, a 10.1 percent gain from August 2020. It was the fifth month in a row of registering increases since the Index’s precipitous plunge in March, when it dropped 156.39 points, a 33.4 percent decline from February 2020, to 312.52 points.

Six of the 13 companies tracked by the AGEM Index reported stock-price increases in September. The stock price for Aristocrat Leisure Limited increased by 2.7 percent, accounting for a 12.43-point improvement in the Index, while Scientific Games Corporation experienced a 13.7 percent jump that led to an Index contribution of 3.79 points.

Contrasting the increase in the AGEM Index, all three major U.S. stock indices declined in September. The NASDAQ dropped by 5.4 percent, the S&P 500 fell by 3.9 percent, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 2.1 percent compared to August 2020.
