AGEM Index breaks 1,000 in new record high

The AGEM Index has been on an upward trajectory for the past nine months and hit a new high in June. The Index increased by 25.50 points to reach 1,005.20 points, a 2.6 percent gain over May. What a difference a year makes. In June 2020, the Index sat at 407.31 points. It’s risen by nearly 150% since then.

Last month, seven of the 13 AGEM Index companies reported increases in their stock prices. The June growth was due in large part to an 11.3 percent increase in the stock price of Inspired Entertainment, Inc., which was responsible for 13.8 points. Another significant contributor was Scientific Games Corporation, which added 9.6 points from a 6.8 percent rise in its stock price.

Most of the stocks in the AGEM Index recorded triple-digit growth rates over the past year. Scientific Games led the way with a 401 percent rise in its stock price since June 2020.

The major stock indices reported mixed performances. The NASDAQ and the S&P 500 grew by 5.5 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively, while, the Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced a 0.1 percent decline.
