What was your first job in the gaming industry? Did you have previous experience in other industries? What drew you to gaming?

I grew up around the industry, my dad worked in a casino my whole life. As a child, I watched him and my mom go to the big events – New Year’s Eve, Super Bowl, Gala’s. To me, it looked like Hollywood glamor. I can still remember walking through casinos, hearing the coins drop into metal pans and seeing people dressed to the nines. There was a vibe and energy I felt for as long as I can remember.

My first job was as a lifeguard on the Strip when I was 15. From there, the casino world became my career path. In college, I shadowed different departments, and I fell in love with Special Events. It felt like home because it was the team behind the glamorous parties I grew up admiring. That’s when I knew this industry was where I belonged.

What do you like about working in gaming? What is it about the industry that keeps you engaged? What is unique about it?.

Gaming has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, so I’ll admit I’m a little biased, but the energy of this industry is truly unmatched. Every day you feel the passion and drive, whether it’s from players, team members, leadership, or the business itself. You’re constantly surrounded by excitement, innovation, and momentum.

At Gaming Analytics, I’m especially grateful for the impact we’ve been able to create by bringing AI into the industry. That contribution to shaping the future of gaming keeps the work incredibly meaningful. It’s what keeps me engaged is that the industry never stands still. There’s always a new challenge, a new market, or a new trend to lean into. It’s constantly evolving, and I thrive in that kind of dynamic environment.

What personality traits help you in this industry?

I’ve always been motivated and focused, However, I know a big piece of what I learned as a student athlete in college taught me discipline, time management, and resilience. Those skills directly translated to my career. I learned to juggle competing priorities and stay focused under pressure.

Do you have any resource recommendations for people pursuing a career in gaming?

My biggest advice is to just get your foot in the door. No matter the role, once you’re inside the industry, opportunities open up. Stay focused, stay curious, and seek out a mentor who can guide you along the way. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. Its fast-paced, but rewarding industry if you embrace it.

What advice do you have for women seeking careers in gaming?

Jump in! This is an exciting and rewarding industry, and we need more women at every level. Don’t be afraid to take that first step, even if it feels outside your comfort zone—every role is an opportunity to learn and grow. Find a mentor, build your network, and lean on organizations like Global Gaming Women (GGW) for support and community. The industry is evolving quickly, and there’s never been a better time for women to be part of shaping its future.
