The World Series of Poker Circuit Event is to set to make its return to Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, it was announced Wednesday.

The event made its debut in Toronto last year. Once again, the upcoming international circuit event will be held in the poker room at the resort. GGPoker became the official sponsor of the poker room in January.

The upcoming WSOP tournament will take place April 10-22 and will feature an expanded schedule and bigger prize pools, as well as 11 WSOP Circuit Ring Events.

“The demand for this tournament continues to grow, attracting top talent from around the world,” said Michael Kim, Executive Vice President, Great Canadian Entertainment, in a written statement. “This year’s event promises even higher stakes and excitement.”

This year’s tournament is expected to surpass last year’s CA$5.5 million prize pool, with the expanded schedule. The CA$2,000 Main Event, the CA$3,500 High Roller event, new Ladies and Seniors events and a Pot Limit Omaha tournament are part of the 2025 lineup.

At last year’s inaugural WSOP Circuit Event, 6,000 people entered, including 324 Main Event online qualifiers from GGPoker. The $2,000 Main Event alone generated a CA$2.8 million prize pool, while the $3,500 High Roller Events generated a CA$1 million prize pool.

“By combining the best of live and online poker, we’re ensuring players have unparalleled access to the WSOP Circuit in Ontario,” said Sarne Lightman, Managing Director of GGPoker.
