SBC Summit 2024 this week announced that World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee will speak at the event during a fireside chat discussion. Berners will appear September 24 on the Super Stage at Feira Internacional de Lisboa’s MEO Arena in Portugal.
“Our events have always been about exploring what lies ahead, beyond the current landscape,” said SBC CEO & Founder Rasmus Sojmark in a statement. “As event organizers, our goal is not only to provide attendees with access to products and services and facilitate networking but also to educate and inspire innovation, pushing their offerings to the next level. Sir Tim embodies this ethos perfectly — he’s a shining example of someone who recognized potential and transformed lives in unimaginable ways.”
Berners-Lee’s appearance will focus on how his vision of connected network of computers transformed the way information is shared. He created the World Wide Web in 1989 while working as a software engineer at CERN, the particle physics laboratory, in Geneva, Switzerland.
Super Stage access is available to all SBC Summit attendees.
The summit is expected to draw 25,000 attendees and will feature 600 global brands, 450 speakers including leaders and experts from gaming industry fields.
