Maner Puyawan, chief technology officer (CTO) for Las Vegas-based Marker Trax, was honored at the Vegas Inc. Top Tech Awards on Nov. 16, winning in the Startup of the Year category.

Puyawan joined the company in 2021 and completely rebuilt Marker Trax’ technology, leading directly to its rise in the cashless casino-credit sector of the gaming industry.

“We had a good idea in its infancy before Maner joined the team and he put us over the top,” said Charlie Skinner, Marker Trax’ chief operating officer. “Through his dedication and leadership, our vision was brought fully to life and Marker Trax as a company is now helping to lead the charge in the cashless revolution.”

That dedication and leadership extend to supporting the community, as well. An avid triathlete, Puyawan is a member of the Nevada Bicycle Club, which advocates for road safety for motorists and cyclists and raises funds and supplies for families in need, both here and in his native Philippines.

The honor caps off a year of rapid growth for the company, which also saw high-profile-partner signings to further extend its reach around the region and the country, leading a well-attended panel discussion on its industry at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E), as well as other milestones.
