With two casinos moving from temporary to permanent locations, Virginia casinos saw revenue increase 29.2% year-over-year in September, up from $56.6 million to $73.1 million.
According to the latest report from the Virginia Lottery, Caesars Virginia, which opened its permanent location in December, generated the highest revenue in September, reaching $28.2 million, up 54.5% from $18.3 million the year prior. Slot revenue for the casino rose 57% year-over-year, from $13.5 million to $21.2 million, and table game revenue increased 47.2% from $4.8 million to $7 million.
The Hard Rock Bristol, which opened its permanent location in November, saw the second-highest revenue increase, as profits rose 46.1% year-over-year from $14.1 million to $20.6 million. Revenue from slot and table games increased, with slots rising 44% from $11.7 million to $16.8 million and table games rising 55.8% from $2.4 million to $3.8 million.
Revenue for the Rivers Casino Portsmouth remained stable year-over-year in September, despite it being the highest earner in September, with an increase of 0.3% from $24.2 million to $24.3 million. Table games revenue rose by 4.6% from $6.4 million to $6.7 million. Slot revenue decreased by 1.2% from $17.9 million to $17.6 million.
Statewide slot revenue rose 29.4% year-over-year from $43 million to $55.7 million, and table game revenue was up 28.7% from $13.5 million to $17.4 million.
