Casinos in Virginia saw a 30.4% revenue increase year-over-year in August, with revenue rising from $65.1 million to $84.4 million, according to figures published by the Virginia Lottery.
Caesars Virginia saw the highest year-over-year revenue increase of 68.4% last month, rising from $65.2 million to $84.8 million. Slots generated profits of $26.5 million, an increase of 70% from the $15.9 million generated the year prior, and table games also saw an increase of 64%, from $4.8 million to $7.9 million.
Despite having the lowest year-over-year increase, Rivers Casino Portsmouth generated the second-highest revenue in the state of just more than $28 million, up 5.2% from $26.6 million. Slot revenue rose by 6.2% in August from $19.2 million to $20.4 million, and table games revenue remained stable, increasing by 1.5% from $7.5 million to $7.6 million.
While it generated the lowest revenue in the state of $22.3 million, the Hard Rock Bristol’s revenue was up 40% from $15.9 million. Table games and slots in the casino experienced 40% gains, with slots rising from $13.3 million to $18.6 million, and table games revenue increasing from $2.7 million to $3.7 million.
Table games revenue in the state generated $19.2 million, a 28.7% rise from the just less than $15 million the year prior. Slots saw a year-over-year increase of 36.3%, with profits rising from $48.1 million to $65.6 million.
